Pleora’s iPORT™ SB-GigE External Frame Grabbers (interface boards) expands upon the SB-Pro that converted the FCBEH6500, FCBEH6300 and the FCBH11 Sony High Definition block cameras by allowing systems manufacturers and integrators to treat them as native GigE Vision® cameras. The IPORT SB-GigE picks up where the SB-Pro left off offering GigE Vision to these cameras, FCBEV7500, FCBEH6500, FCBEH6300, FCBEH3410 and FCBEH3310, with these external frame grabbers, Sony HD block cameras can leverage long-distance cabling of Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) for both video and control signals. The cameras can also be used with a broader selection of computing platforms and lower overall system costs.

Pleora’s iPORT SB-GigE offers and extensive Software Developers Kit (SDK) eBUS.  The eBUS SDK interfaces with the Sony VISCA protocol making communication easy. The eBus SDK offers designers, engineers, system integrators and manufacturers a development tool that easily interfaces between their software, the SB-GigE and the Sony HD FCB Blocks.

The ability to integrate High Definition Cameras into a standard GigE signal makes this a solution of choice for many reasons including cost savings, reliability, distancing and space allocation. GigE offers low consistent latency for reliability. Applications where going long distances (up to 100 meters) is important makes the SB-GigE a solution of choice with only one standard CAT5e/6 cable necessary to do the job. Finally, SB-GigE saves space eliminating the need for desktop PCs allowing for the use of smaller form factors such as laptops, embedded PCs and single board computers.
