Sony Image Sensing Solutions announced a partnership with a Belgium company to deliver a range of high definition block cameras for deep-water pipe inspection for the oil and gas industry. These cameras are used to monitor the integrity of underwater pipelines, oil well caps and rigs. Fiber or copper cabling is required to reach the depths of 4,000m and pressure of 400 atmospheres. Standard interface boards could not reach underwater depths like these, but with an interface board like the SDI-FIBER-EH-GM utilizing copper or fiber optics, these depths are easily reachable.
Underwater, underground or above ground, the SDI-FIBER-EH-GM board supports high definition outputs in 1080i, 1080p and 720p as well as optical and dual coax HD-SDI outputs, compliant to SMPTE292M, SMPTE274M, and SMPTE296M.
