Recently we found out at Aegis that the one-piece high-resolution color Elmo MN400 micro camera (pictured left)has been discontinued. Ideally we would like to provide an Elmo replacement for the product, but as Elmo has slowly been shifting away from producing industrial cameras we found that the Sony XC-505 CCD camera (pictured right) is the ideal replacement. The Sony camera is a compact all-in-one color camera ideal for remote monitoring, security, content creation, machine vision, and sports shooting. Like the Elmo MN400, the Sony XC505 has the flexibility of interchangeable lenses for added optical options; you can easily convert the NF lens system to a C-mount lens.   If space is limited, this tiny cigar-shaped Sony XC505 camera, like the Elmo MN400, can be easily integrated where larger cameras just won’t fit. This camera has many popular features and functions, including an internal sync system that allows it to “play well” with other cameras.  Special features included in this camera are one-push white balance, noise reduction and a built-in color bar. Compare the specifications between the cameras for yourself:

Can you tell which one is which? The left is the Elmo MN400 while the other is the Sony XC505. Read our past blog posts about the Sony XC505 or contact us at 888-687-6877 if you want to know more about this camera.
