The XC-ST70CE uses the latest 2/3" Interline
Transfer (IT) CCD with HAD technology which
is more sensitive than the CCD used in the XC-77
camera family. These new CCDs have a microlens
over each pixel to significantly improve the
light collection efficiency. This is reflected
in the minimum sensitivity specification of
0.3 lx. That means the camera should be able
to detect more faint signals or need less gain
with less noise when detecting faint signals.
The XC-ST70CE has all the camera control switches
accessible from the outside of the camera. There
is no need for the user to open the camera to
modify the operating mode of the camera or to
determine or confirm switches settings. A user
will no longer need to "customize"
the internal camera switches.
The XC-ST70CE has an improved trigger/shutter
that significantly improves and simplifies the
trigger operation from previous models. The
various versions of Reset-Restart and Donpisha
are now replaced with a simplified trigger/shutter
that provides much greater functionality and
flexibility. Now, the shutter speed of the external
trigger shutter can be specified by the width
of an external trigger pulse or switch setting
in the rear panel. With this function, the XC-ST70CE
can take a clear image of a fast moving object.
The XC-ST70CE is a small, lightweight one-piece
camera very similar in size to the XC-73/75.
The camera body's measurements are 29 x 44 mm
(same as the XC-77/75/73); however, the length
measures only 58 mm long, 46% shorter than the
XC-77. The camera weighs only 105 grams, 45%
lighter than the XC-77 at 190 grams. It even
weighs less than the XC-73/75, 140 grams. The
compact, lightweight camera body allows the
camera to be used in very tight places and for
some remote camera-head applications.
The XC-ST70CE has improved vibration resistance.
Vibration resistance has been improved to 10G
over a wider vibration frequency range (20 to
200 Hz). The improvement in vibration resistance
is achieved by improved board-to-board connections.
The compact size and improved vibration resistance
makes the XC-ST70CE even more viable as a remote
head camera replacement i.e. XC-77RR and XC-77BB.
The XC-ST70 can resist up to a 70G shock.
The DC-700/700CE is a camera adapter for all
current DC operated XC cameras. The DC700/700CE
supplies 13V, 1.3A. It is smaller (110 x 53
x 160mm) and lighter (700g) than the DC-77RR
and DC-777, and useful in space limited applications.
The DC-700/700CE adopts the new pin assignment
of 12pin connector, which is based upon EIAJ;
therefore, it is different from current models
such as DC-77RR and DC-777. Because the new
camera adaptor has a protection circuit inside,
all current XC models can work with the DC-700/700CE.
