There are two common methods for "painting" a video image on an electronic display screen by scanning or displaying each line or row of pixels, the first is Interlace Scan and the second is Progressive Scan.

Progressive scan video cameras are used in a variety of applications in industrial vision, such as machine vision, robotics and military. A progressive scan video camera is used specifically for moving applications using a non-interlaced technology, which allows for a clear picture.
