Initially set to pave the road to high-definition image acquisition and excellent user experiences,  Sony's additions to its successful EVI series last year, the EVI-HD3V and EVI-HD7V have been far from disappointing.

Sony EVI-HD7V 1080p HD P/T/Z Camera

The EVI-HD3V and EVI-HD7V are second generation high-definition (HD) industrial cameras fromthat are perfect for video conferencing, distance learning and corporate training as well as surveillance, sports, concerts and internet communications such as webcasting because they were designed to produce excellent life-like HD images of up to 720p/60 and 1080p/60 respectively. These all-in-one HD robotic cameras are extremely easy to use and come equipped with the EVI series’ renowned low-noise pan/tilt mechanism which is ideal in quieter settings.

Sony EVI-HD1 SD/HD P/T/Z Camera

Aimed at meeting the global market’s increasing demand for high definition camera systems, the EVI-HD3V and EVI-HD7V were created after the successful release of Sony's first HD P/T/Z camera, the EVI-HD1 in 2007.  The EVI-HD1 has the ability to switch from standard definition (SD) to high definition (HD) and offers 14 formats to choose from (including eight HD types and six SD video formats).  The EVI-HD1 was a hit due in part to the fact that it gave users the ability to stay with standard definition until they decided they were ready for high definition with the switch of a button and the purchase of a frame grabber (like the Nexeon HD Xtra
from dPict Imaging).

Given Sony's long standing reputation for high quality pan/tilt/zoom cameras, these three are no exception and certainly no disappointment for those who integrate them into an application.  The full line of Sony's EVI HD cameras eases the transition to HD and offers a little something for everyone, with the EVI-HD1 providing options for SD and 1080i, the new 720P EVI-HD3V offering an economical upgrade path, and the 1080P EVI-HD7V setting the bar for high-end, full HD, all in one neat package.

For those looking at only using standard definition, Sony's wildly successful EVI-D70 and EVI-100 pan/tilt/zoom cameras are still going strong and are still considered to be one of the best P/T/Z cameras on the market!
