HITACHI AND TOSHIBA CCD COMPARISON – THE WINNER IS HITACHI, HANDS DOWN!

Comparisons are what help us select the winner.  No matter what it is, the ability to directly compare things is human nature, and many times, the process is quite enjoyable!

Remote head 3CCD multi-format cameras are something that can be compared – because of function, price, availability and image quality, making this an interesting comparison.

Hitachi and Toshiba both manufacturer a high-definition, remote head CCD camera Hitachi’s is the HV-HD201 (HVHD201), and the Toshiba’s IK-HD1H  +HD1E.  The Hitachi HV-HD201 (HVHD201) comes with an included 5.5M cable; the Toshiba IK-HD1H camera does not (but you can purchase a cable).   The Hitachi IK-HD1H has a standard sensitivity of f8.0 at 2000 lux at 56db compared to the Toshiba IK-HD1 with a 2000 lux and 54db, allowing use in lower light.  The Hitachi HV-HD201 (HVHD201) has selectable 1080i or 720p – the Toshiba IK-HD1 offers only a 1080i output, and no 720p output.

From an output stand, the Hitachi HV-HD201 (HVHD201) multiple output’s include HD-SDI, HDMI, selectable R/G/B or Y/ P_b /P_r, the Toshiba IK-HD1 only offers component or HD-SDI outputs, no HDMI or standard definition outputs.

And now, the bottom line, as it were … the Hitachi HV-HD201 (HVHD201) is available at a price that is lower than the Toshiba IK-HD1H.  And THAT pretty much says it all …

With the ability to visually compare the two, you can easily see that the Toshiba IK-HD1H Head + HD1E CCU camera is absolutely no match for the Hitachi HV-HD201 (HVHD201)!
