Blending its superior quality 1/4 type EXview HAD™ CCD (Charge Couple Device) imaging technology with the adaptability of remote P/T/Z operation, this user-friendly camera excels thanks in part, to its innate abilities. Able to record sparkling, well-defined video with 380,000 pixels, it displays 470 lines of TV resolution at the wide end, and a comprehensive 340 degree Pan range with 120 degrees of Tilt – all of this allowing the user to zoom in on a small, or far-off item.

A natural ease of flexibility, coupled with an elevated AF (Auto Focus) zoom ratio of 18x optical and 12x digital lens capability, enables the
EVI-D70 to capture even the smallest of detail, recording video with explicit accuracy. Fully remote controllable, by either RS-232C (VISCA) or RS-422 serial control cables, the EVI-D70 can be accessed by a RS232C computer located about 150 feet from the camera. With its outstanding low-light sensitivity, the EVI-D70 Sony camera is able to record in a minimum illumination of less than 1 lux - complementing its versatility and practically. Ideal for remote-shooting video conferencing, remote learning, event venues or court rooms, subjects are recorded with extraordinary precision and detailed clarity. It is because of this precision that the EVI-D70 is used in telemedicine; in patient consultations, the remote monitoring of patient vital signs, or the transmission of images – all expands this new talent in patient care, and subsequently improve a patient’s ongoing health reporting.
Available in several models, this NTSC (National Television System Committee) PTZ camera is presented in a black housing (the
EVI-D70), while the NTSC EVI-D70W is housed in white. The two PAL (Phase Alternating Line) models are the EVI-D70P in a black housing and the EVI-D70P/W in a white covering. All models are desktop, wall mount (Sony WM30B) and now ceiling mountable (a first for Sony) using the E-Flip (Electronic-Flip) function.
With an auto ICR (Infrared Cut-filter Removal) for detailed color reproduction, alarm function, automatic focus, and a 6 position pre-set, use interaction is lessened – and with RS-232C/422 serial control, they are precisely the camera for remote-shooting applications. The EVI-D70 camera is able to duplicate its usefulness in day and night environments while - supporting its versatility and practically.
Huge expertise in a small size, the
EVI-D70 is only 5 1/4 x 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (132 x 144 x 144 mm), and weighs a mere at 2 pounds 2 ounces (950g). Video documenting is straight-forward, and occurs without calling visual attention to the recording device-essential where design considerations as well as safety measures are extremely necessary.
Able to immediately recall up to six pre-programmed positions for the pan/tilt/zoom feature, the EVI-D70 also includes automatic focusing, white balance, and exposure attributes. Moreover, because multiple cameras can be connected in a daisy-chain configuration, users can enjoy the benefits of simplified operation in a multi-camera system. Utilizing daisy chain cabling, up to seven cameras can be linked together, particularly useful in inspection remote shooting applications, where several cameras can be arranged for specific object recognition and examination. Sony VISCA daisy-chain cables are offered in lengths of 6, 25, as well as 50 and 100 feet (8pin Mini-Din Plug to 8pin Mini-Din Plug VISCA RS-232 cable) easily connecting multiple cameras and/or connecting the Sony ergonomically designed
RM-BR300 joystick controller.
Mounting methods, too are varied: the Sony
CMDW-70B hard ceiling camera mount or corner tile mount is ready when the corner of the room is the best place for camera mounting, the Sony
WM30B wall mount, and the the Sony
CM30B-70B-100B-1000B ceiling camera mount has an 18” stem from the ceiling.

EVI-D70 and EVI D70/W cameras. Three indoor and outdoor models offer simplified installation, exceptional camera protection and versatility, all in a compact, cast aluminum body. Outdoor vandal resistant pendant mounting brackets with clear dome housings, and tinted dome housings, parapet mounting brackets, as well as – all are available for the EVI-D70 robotic camera. With the
RC1-SX general purpose interface kit for the EVI-D70 camera, a complete mounting system solution is provided. Consisting of a rugged steel wall-mounting bracket (wall plate or in-line module are optional) with camera mounting thumb-screw and black wall-plate screws, regulated camera power with an
included upgraded power supply, remote camera control (including IR Out back to the head end) and S-video - all carried over a single, standard Cat5 UTP wire for distances up to 300'.
